Taboo-The custom of beauty

File:Karen Padaung Girl Portrait.jpg

The custom of beauty in part of Asia.

Kayan Lahur people also called padaung wear ornaments of brass or metal beginning at the  tender age of 2 in some Afrikaan and Asian cultures. The neck rings are continually worn during a life span. The rings give an illusion of elongating the neck, when in actuality the weight of the rings pushes down as well as added rings over time. The bearing down on the collar and clavical bones over time deform the ribs and other bones to a 45 degre lower than human anatomy. In turn effects the spine and creates space between disks causing liquid absorption. Because of enormous amounts of tourist, the visitor encourages natives to continue practices of neck ring adorning tradition. If not begun on or before age 5 for example, a 12 year old girl will have to endure painful force of large quantity of rings at once. Instead of gradual addition of rings over the passing years. The practice was first discovered in 1300 by the well known water game, name Marko Polo. Doctors in Thiland first met padaung and found this tradition in 1984.
